BLOOD RED THRONE – Siltskin, 2025 - Horns Up Metal Podcast 🤘

Si ya de por sí los noruegos BLOOD RED THRONE son una banda insignia del death metal europeo, el hecho de que hayan publicado un nuevo disco titulado «Siltskin» cuando aún estábamos relamiéndonos con «Nonagon», dan muestra de que están en estado de plena efervescencia creativa.

En «Siltskin», si bien ya nos podemos imaginar lo que vamos a encontrar, es también cierto que hay elementos que añaden un valor diferencial a su predecesor, ya que no resulta tan brutal, tan death como «Nonagon», y con partes con un fuerte componente melódico.

La banda formada por el ex SATYRICON Daniel “Død” Olaisen en 1996, vuelve con otra descarga apabullante de death metal, aunque el macho cabrío tira al monte y podemos ver elementos propios del black metal old school con múltiples blast beast y trémolos en las guitarras.

Ellos califican su trabajo como death metal, si bien a medida que vamos adentrándonos en los nueve cortes, cada vez se nota más ese retrogusto black metal, con muchos más elementos melódicos de lo que suele uno encontrarse en grupos de death al uso.

Con “Siltskin”, los de Daniel Olaisen muestran que siguen dando el callo y que todavía tienen carrete para rato, siendo un trabajo que seguro gustará a los oyentes habituales de la banda.

If Norwegian band BLOOD RED THRONE were already a flagship band of European death metal, the fact that they have released a new album entitled “Siltskin” while we were still savoring “Nonagon” shows that they are in a state of full creative effervescence.

In “Siltskin,” while we can already imagine what we are going to find, it is also true that there are elements that add a differential value to its predecessor, since it is not as brutal, as death as “Nonagon,” and there are no parts with a strong melodic component.

The band, formed by former SATYRICON member Daniel “Død” Olaisen in 1996, returns with another overwhelming blast of death metal, although the goat man returns to his roots and we can see elements of old school black metal with multiple blast beats and tremolos on the guitars.

They describe their work as death metal, although as we delve into the nine tracks, that black metal aftertaste becomes increasingly noticeable, with many more melodic elements than one usually finds in typical death metal bands.

With “Siltskin,” Daniel Olaisen’s band shows that they are still working hard and that they still have plenty of energy left, with an album that is sure to appeal to the band’s regular listeners.
