2025 también está siendo un año en el que muchos de los grandes nombres del rock y el metal están mostrando sus galones por medio de  la publicación de enormes discos. A este particular festival se han apuntado los suizos CORONER con su “Dissonance theory”.

A CORONER la pausa que hicieron en su carrera les ha sentado realmente bien, ya que después de 32 años estamos ante un nuevo trabajo de estudio que no necesita tirar de la nostalgia para apreciar su calidad. Es decir, que gustará tanto a los que seguían a la banda en los ochenta como a los que les acaban de descubrir.

Los padres del thrash metal técnico o progresivo siguen mostrando su capacidad para crear tremendos riffs, siendo el elemento más destacable, ya que en este disco los solos de guitarra (que son increíbles), no se llevan tanto el peso de las composiciones.

Después de escuchar “Dissonance theory” sólo espero que no es lleve otros treinta años sacar el siguiente, aunque se les perdonan las tres décadas si han valido para sacar este discazo.

 2025 is also proving to be a year in which many of the big names in rock and metal are showing their stripes by releasing huge albums. Swiss band CORONER has joined this particular festival with their “Dissonance Theory.”

The break CORONER took in their career has really done them good, because after 32 years we have a new studio album that doesn’t need to rely on nostalgia to be appreciated for its quality. In other words, it will appeal both to those who followed the band in the 1980s and those who have just discovered them.

The fathers of technical or progressive thrash metal continue to show their ability to create tremendous riffs, which are the most notable element, as on this album the guitar solos (which are incredible) do not carry as much weight in the compositions.

After listening to “Dissonance Theory,” I just hope it doesn’t take another thirty years to release the next one, although we can forgive them for the three decades if it meant they could release this great album.
