El reciente nuevo álbum de los alemanes HERETOIR, Solastalgia, muestra una nueva senda a seguir dentro del mundo del post metal que corre en paralelo con otros grupos como HARAKIRI FOR THE SKY o GROZA.
Solastalgia es un disco introspectivo que nos pretende transmitir la tristeza derivada de la destrucción de la naturaleza. Para ello acuden a recursos del black metal, del progresivo y del folk, formando entornos muy atmosféricos que refuerzan ese concepto de conexión con el entorno.
Personalmente, me ha parecido una propuesta más accesible para oÃdos algo ajenos al post metal, ya que recurren más a voces limpias y la voz gutural no resulta tan angustiosa como otras del mismo estilo.
Evidentemente, es un disco que requiere una escucha sosegada si quieren percibir todos los arreglos y matices.

The recent new album by German band HERETOIR, Solastalgia, shows a new path to follow in the world of post-metal, running parallel to other groups such as HARAKIRI FOR THE SKY and GROZA.
Solastalgia is an introspective album that aims to convey the sadness derived from the destruction of the natural environment. To do so, they draw on black metal, progressive, and folk influences, creating highly atmospheric environments that reinforce this concept of connection with the environment.
Personally, I found it more accessible to ears unfamiliar with post-metal, as they use more clean vocals and the guttural vocals are not as distressing as others of the same style.
Obviously, it is an album that requires calm listening if you want to perceive all the arrangements and nuances.
