HANGING GARDEN – Isle of Bliss, 2026.

La mítica banda finlandesa de doom HANGING GARDEN ha publicado su nuevo trabajo “Isle of Bliss”.

En este disco se siguen identificando las características de la banda que les han permitido hacerse con una destacada posición en el subgénero del doom, si bien la melancolía y la oscuridad en “Isle of Bliss” viene acompañada con un ritmo mucho más vivo de lo que estamos acostumbrados, pues la batería en muchas partes marca velocidades inusuales en el doom. Este punto, alejado de la ortodoxia del doom, hace que el disco gane en dinamismo y sea más asimilable para los no iniciados.

Lo que no puede faltar es el recogimiento al que invita el juego de voces guturales y limpias sobre las capas que forman las melodías de guitarra.

“Isle of Bliss” se sale ligeramente del patrón de HANGING GARDEN, pero sigue siendo un excelente disco dentro de su carrera.

The legendary Finnish doom band HANGING GARDEN has released its new album, “Isle of Bliss.”

This album continues to showcase the band’s signature traits that have earned them a prominent place in the doom subgenre, though the melancholy and darkness on “Isle of Bliss” are accompanied by a much livelier rhythm than we’re used to, as the drums often set tempos that are unusual for doom. This departure from orthodox doom gives the album greater dynamism and makes it more accessible to newcomers.

What stands out is the contemplative atmosphere created by the interplay of growling and clean vocals over the layers of guitar melodies.

“Isle of Bliss” strays slightly from HANGING GARDEN’s usual formula, but it remains an excellent album in their discography.
