Volvemos a hablar de un lanzamiento de una banda mítica y con un gusto amargo a despedida, ya que Dave Mustaine, alma mater de MEGADETH ha anunciado que con este disco homónimo colgará la guitarra y después de una gira que se antoja extensa, sólo podremos rememorar su legado.
Afortunadamente, esta despedida deja como punto positivo que lo hace con un disco excelente en el que se esculpe nota a nota el nombre de MEGADETH y nos deja a todos los metalheads con el orgullo de ver una marcha por la puerta grande. Mustaine sigue haciendo alarde de su infinito talento para componer riffs thrashers 100 %, estribillos directos pero, por encima de todo, el gusto en la elaboración de los puentes.
Queda fuera de toda duda su capacidad técnica en los momentos en el que las guitarras solistas se desatan, así como el acierto en la elección de Teemu Mäntysaari como fiel escudero a las seis cuerdas.
Para terminar, no me digáis que no se os ha metido algo en el ojo al escuchar el último corte, “The last note”.

Once again, we’re talking about the release of an album by a legendary band, with a bitter taste of farewell, as Dave Mustaine, the alma mater of MEGADETH, has announced that with this self-titled album he will hang up his guitar and, after what promises to be an extensive tour, we will only be able to remember his legacy.
Fortunately, this farewell leaves us with the positive note that he is doing so with an excellent album in which the name MEGADETH is sculpted note by note, leaving all of us metalheads with the pride of seeing him go out on a high note. Mustaine continues to flaunt his infinite talent for composing 100% thrash riffs, direct choruses, but above all, his taste in crafting bridges.
His technical ability is beyond doubt when the lead guitars are unleashed, as is the wise choice of Teemu Mäntysaari as his faithful sidekick on the six strings.
Finally, don’t tell me you didn’t get something in your eye when you heard the last track, «The Last Note.»
