El Hard Rock con tintes ochenteros es una de las fuentes de buenos discos que más están despuntando en los últimos años, ya sea por bandas emergentes como de grupos consolidados como es el caso de los míticos BONFIRE, que han publicado este “Higher ground” con el sello italiano Frontiers Music.
Como era de esperar, lo más destacado en las composiciones sigue siendo el hechizo que las melodías generan en cada tema, perfectamente ejecutadas por Alexx Stahl en una alarde de capacidad de moverse con soltura y solidez en registros altísimos.
La parte instrumental responde a la propuesta que la banda empezó a cuajar hace unos años, revistanando sus clásicos pero con un sonido en las guitarras y baterías mucho más rotundo y agresivo que en sus inicios, pero fiel al hard rock que nos tienen acostumbrados.
El disco contiene temas muy movidos, pero también respeta la tradición de incluir un tema lento como es “When loves come down”, si bien es más un medio tiempo de seguro podría estar en el programa especial de baladas.
“Higher ground” es un disco que debería estar entre los mejores del año, no sólo del AOR o el hard rock, sino de todas las listas.

Hard Rock with 80’s tinges is one of the sources of good albums that have been making the most in the last few years, either by emerging bands or consolidated groups such as the mythical BONFIRE, who have released this “Higher ground” with the Italian label Frontiers Music.
As expected, the most outstanding feature of the compositions is still the spell that the melodies generate in each song, perfectly executed by Alexx Stahl in a display of his ability to move with ease and solidity in very high registers.
The instrumental part responds to the proposal that the band started to develop a few years ago, covering their classics but with a much more rounded and aggressive sound in the guitars and drums than in their beginnings, but faithful to the hard rock that we are used to.
The album contains very moving songs, but also respects the tradition of including a slow song like ‘When loves come down’, although it is more of a mid-tempo song, it could surely be in the special program of ballads.
‘Higher Ground’ is an album that should be in the best of the year, not only in AOR or hard rock, but in all the lists.
