DOROTHY – The way, 2025. - Horns Up Metal Podcast 🤘

La cantante húngara Dorothy Martin, bajo el nombre de su banda denominada DOROTHY, ha publicado hace unos días su tercer disco “The way”, en el que dentro del prisma del metal alternativo, integra múltiples instrumentos y sonoridades que hacen que algunos de los cortes pasen a estar casi dentro de la categoría de heavy country, como “Mud” o “Tombstone Town” con la colaboración estelar de Slash.

El toque sureño viene fundamentalmente del timbre y deje de su voz, que es omnipresente en casi todos los cortes de disco. De hecho, como única pega que le pondría al disco es ese, que la presencia de su voz eclipsa al resto de instrumentos, que de seguro habrían tenido mucho que decir si se les hubiera dado el protagonismo necesario.

Al margen de este aspecto, el disco es de muy buena escucha, con una trabajo de mezcla y producción impecable, y con unas líneas melódicas espectaculares y con una ejecución por parte de Dorothy a la que no se le puede poner un “pero”.

The Hungarian singer Dorothy Martin, under the name of her band called DOROTHY, has released a few days ago her third album «The way», in which within the prism of alternative metal, integrates multiple instruments and sounds that make some of the songs almost fall into the category of heavy country, such as «Mud» or «Tombstone Town» with the stellar collaboration of Slash.

The southern touch comes fundamentally from the timbre and the tone of his voice, which is omnipresent in almost all the songs on the album. In fact, the only downside I would give to the album is that the presence of his voice overshadows the rest of the instruments, which surely would have had a lot to say if they had been given the necessary prominence.

Apart from this aspect, the album is a very good listen, with an impeccable mixing and production work, and with spectacular melodic lines and a performance by Dorothy to which you can’t put a «but».
