Hablar de FLOTSAM & JETSAM es hablar de una de las vacas sagradas del metal norteamericano, con una de las trayectorias más longevas y prolíficas. De hecho, éste “I am the weapon” es su decimosexto disco de estudio.

Hemos tenido ocasión de escuchar varios temas de adelanto, causando buena sensación entre vosotros a la vista de las cervezas con las que han sido agraciados.

“I am the weapon” sigue el camino que la banda tomó con su disco homónimo de 2016, en el que el thrash que había sido su seña de identidad en sus orígenes, ha ido dando paso a un power de corte muy europeo, aunque las pinceladas de thrash siguen estando presentes sobre todo en los riffs de las estrofas de los temas, pero los estribillos suenen mucho más épicos de lo que sería propia de una banda de thrash al uso.

Este disco muestra que FLOTSAM & JETSAM todavía tiene mucho que ofrecer desde que le dieron al botón de “reset”, y es que nunca es tarde para reinventarse.

To talk about FLOTSAM & JETSAM is to talk about one of the sacred cows of North American metal, with one of the longest and most prolific trajectories. In fact, this “I am the weapon” is their sixteenth studio album.

We have had the opportunity to listen to several advance tracks, causing a good sensation among you in view of the beers with which they have been graced.

“I am the weapon” follows the path that the band took with their eponymous 2016 album, in which the thrash that had been their hallmark in its origins, has been giving way to a very European-style power, although the touches of thrash are still present especially in the riffs of the verses of the songs, but the choruses sound much more epic than what would be typical of a thrash band to use.

This album shows that FLOTSAM & JETSAM still has a lot to offer since they hit the “reset” button, and it is never too late to reinvent themselves.
