Si estáis en un momento zen, de esos pocos que nuestro día a día nos ofrece en el que tengáis las pulsaciones y el ánimo relajado, casi mejor que os guardéis esta reseña para otro momento, porque vengo con MIDNIGHT y con ellos, se acabó la calma.
MIDNIGHT han publicado el último trabajo de su prolífera trayectoria (“Hellish expectations”) hace bien poco y, como era de esperar, su disco es como una patada en la boca desde el primer segundo y hasta el final con su desbocada combinación de punk y speed metal.
Aquí no hay descanso. Cada corte es un disparo de velocidad y adrenalina aderezado con distorsión y bilis que, en píldoras de 2 minutos, te harán mover las cervicales de manera poco recomendable para tu salud.
Para no romper con su estilo, este disco tiene un sonido muy crudo y salvaje a base de baterías híper revolucionadas y guitarras afiladas como un cuchillo de cocina que en ciertos puntos recuerdan a MOTÖRHEAD pero mucho más extremo y voces que parecen vomitar odio a todo lo que les rodea… dicho así parece que es algo malo, peor todo lo contrario, ya que estamos ante un disco que no está dirigido al público generalista precisamente.
No os puedo destacar ningún tema por encima del resto, pues todos responden a la misma descripción y todos me han creado la misma sensación: pogo, pogo y más pogo. A un concierto de MIDNIGHT hay que ir con casco y espinilleras.
Si os gusta el sonido antisistema y provocador, “Hellish expectations” es vuestro disco y MIDNIGHT, tu banda.

If you are in a zen moment, one of those few that our day to day life offers us in which you have the pulse and the mood relaxed, probably better save this review for another time, because I’m coming with MIDNIGHT and with them, the calm is over.
MIDNIGHT have released the latest work of their prolific career («Hellish expectations») quite recently and, as expected, their album is like a kick in the mouth from the first second to the end with their unbridled combination of punk and speed metal.
There is no rest here. Each cut is a shot of speed and adrenaline seasoned with distortion and bile that, in 2-minute pills, will make you move your cervicals in a way that is not recommended for your health.
In order not to break with their style, this album has a very raw and wild sound based on hyper revved up drums and sharp guitars like a kitchen knife that in certain points remind MOTÖRHEAD but much more extreme and voices that seem to vomit hate to everything that surrounds them… said this way it seems that it is something bad, but on the opposite, because we are in front of an album that is not directed to the general public precisely.
I can not highlight any song above the rest, because they all respond to the same description and all have created the same feeling: pogo, pogo and more pogo. You have to go to a MIDNIGHT concert with a helmet and shin guards.
If you like the anti-system and provocative sound, «Hellish expectations» is your album and MIDNIGHT, your band.
