NIGHTFALL – Children of eve, 2025. - Horns Up Metal Podcast 🤘

En HUP seguimos en nuestro inquebrantable camino a la apostasía de mano del black metal heleno. En esta parada nos acompañan NIGHTFALL, una de las bandas que junto a ya conocidos referentes como ROTTING CHRIST y SEPTICFLESH han creado los cimientos del black metal griego que ahora conocemos.

La connotación pagana como contraposición al cristianismo sigue presente en “Children of eve”, en un disco oscuro en el que confluyen elementos de diversos estilos musicales que complementan al black más académico, como son el thrash o el death, aunque lo más llamativo son ritmos como los de “Lurking” que se alejan del núcleo duro del black sin que por ellos el tema pierda agresividad o potencia.

El tema “With outlastanding desire to disobey” reconozco que me despistó al escucharlo por primera vez, pues es un tema que cuenta con una personalidad con las voces femeninas que no se repite en el resto del disco.

“Children of eve” es un claro mensaje que el black metal heleno no sólo ha resurgido con enorme fuerza, sino que le queda aún mucho por decir.

In HUP we continue on our unwavering path to apostasy hand in hand with the Hellenic metal balcony. On this stop we are accompanied by NIGHTFALL, one of the bands that together with already known referents such as ROTTING CHRIST and SEPTICFLESH have created the foundations of the Greek black metal we now know.

The pagan connotation as opposed to Christianity is still present in «Children of eve», in a dark album in which elements of various musical styles that complement the more academic black, such as thrash or death, converge, although the most striking are rhythms like those of «Lurking» that move away from the hard core of black without losing aggressiveness or power.

The song «With outlastanding desire to disobey» I admit that it threw me off when I listened to it for the first time, because it is a song that has a personality with female vocals that is not repeated in the rest of the album.

«Children of eve» is a clear message that the Hellenic black metal not only has re-emerged with enormous strength, but that it still has a lot to say.
