El proyecto escocĂ©s de black metal atmosfĂ©rico con una enorme carga de sonidos folclĂłricos celtas, SAOR, han vuelto con su âAmidst the ruinâ publicado por medio de Season of Mist.
El disco contiene cinco cortes y se va casi a la hora de duraciĂłn, asĂ que es fĂĄcil calcular que nos encontramos ante temas largos, pero su escucha no resulta densa o pesada, pues tienen pasajes bellĂsimos ejecutados con instrumentos de cuerda y viento que se combinan a la perfecciĂłn con las frenĂ©ticas baterĂas black metaleras. Es lo que mĂĄs me ha sorprendido, que aĂșn estando escuchando un doble bombo de manera recurrente, no lo puedo considerar como un disco rĂĄpido. Todo lo contrario, es un disco de los de cerrarlos ojos e ir transitando pausadamente, imaginando verdes valles cubiertos por la niebla.
Y otro aspecto sorprendente es la gran carga emocional que consigue Andy Marshall (el hombre detrĂĄs de SAOR) y la magnĂfica conexiĂłn que consigue, incluso podrĂa calificarla como hipnĂłtica.

The Scottish atmospheric black metal project with a huge load of Celtic folk sounds, SAOR, are back with their «Amidst the ruin» released through Season of Mist.
The album contains five tracks and is almost an hour long, so it is easy to calculate that we are facing long themes, but its listening is not dense or heavy, because they have beautiful passages performed with string and wind instruments that combine perfectly with the frenetic black metal drums. That’s what surprised me the most, that even when listening to a double bass drum in a recurrent way, I can’t consider it as a fast album. On the contrary, it is an album to close your eyes and go slowly, imagining green valleys covered by fog.
And another surprising aspect is the great emotional charge that Andy Marshall (the man behind SAOR) achieves and the magnificent connection he gets, I could even qualify it as hypnotic.
«Amidst the ruin» is a true atmospheric black metal marvel.
