Melissa BONNY, la cantante de la banda suiza AD INFINITUM ha dado el salto a su carrera en solitario en paralelo a la banda, publicando “Red cherry apocalypse”.
En este disco está claro que Melissa ha querido hacer una incursión en sonidos muy diferentes de lo que hace con AD INFINITUM, que personalmente es lo que siempre he pensado que deben ser las carreras en solitario. Bien es cierto que los dos primeros temas sí recuerdan a lo que hace con su banda, pero lo he percibido como un cebo que permite al oyente ir adentrándose de manera progresiva en el disco. Me ha recordado, salvando las distancias, al proyecto en solitario de Floor Jansen.
El punto de inflexión del disco es el tema “I don’t like you”, un tema con reminiscencias clarísimas al pop de los 90, en el que muestra que sus influencias y registros pueden llegar a un amplísimo espectro musical.
Es un disco muy personal en el que Melissa se ha encargado de la composición de todos los temas, mostrando todo lo que hay debajo de la cantante de AD INFINITUM.

Melissa BONNY, the singer of the Swiss band AD INFINITUM, has launched her solo career alongside the band, releasing «Red Cherry Apocalypse.»
On this album, it is clear that Melissa wanted to explore sounds that are very different from what she does with AD INFINITUM, which is personally what I have always thought solo careers should be. It is true that the first two tracks are reminiscent of what she does with her band, but I perceived them as bait that allows the listener to gradually delve deeper into the album. It reminded me, with some differences, of Floor Jansen’s solo project.
The turning point of the album is the song «I don’t like you,» a track with clear reminiscences of 90s pop, in which she shows that her influences and registers can reach a very wide musical spectrum.
It is a very personal album in which Melissa has been responsible for the composition of all the songs, showing everything that lies beneath the AD INFINITUM singer.
