VICIOUS RAIN – The anatomy of surviving, 2026.

Dentro de la abundante oferta de bandas de metalcore que proliferan últimamente, ha llamado poderosamente mi atención el disco “The anatomy of surviving” de los suizos VICIOUS RAIN.

Cuando hay una multitud de grupos de metalcore, es el elemento diferencial el que hace destacar a una banda sobre el resto. En el caso de VICIOUS RAIN, las composiciones, que son casi una manifestación de rabia y angustia, es lo que marca la diferencia.

En este disco no existe esa contraposición marcada entre partes melódicas y contundentes, sino que todo surge de manera conjunta como si de la rotura de un muro de contención emocional se tratara.

Esa emanación hace que por momentos, el sonido sea más propio de deathcore, lo cual supone un reto real a la hora de llegar a esos registros en directo.

“The anatomy of surviving” es un delirio emocional e instrumental que se desmarca de la masa de bandas de metalcore.

Among the abundance of metalcore bands that have been popping up lately, the album “The Anatomy of Surviving” by the Swiss band VICIOUS RAIN has really caught my attention.

When there’s a multitude of metalcore bands, it’s that unique element that makes one band stand out from the rest. In the case of VICIOUS RAIN, the compositions—which are almost a manifestation of rage and anguish—are what set them apart.

On this album, there isn’t a stark contrast between melodic and heavy sections; instead, everything emerges as a unified whole, as if an emotional dam had burst.

This outpouring makes the sound, at times, more akin to deathcore, which poses a real challenge when it comes to achieving those registers live.

“The Anatomy of Surviving” is an emotional and instrumental frenzy that sets itself apart from the mass of metalcore bands.
