“Dark asylum·” es el último disco en ver la luz de los norteamericanos KAMELOT, el cual me ha requerido más de una escucha para sumergirme por completo en la historia y las melodías que contiene.
De una primera pasada, es probable que te quedes con temas como “Ashen world”, “Godlike alchemy” o “Sanctuary” (probablemente, uno de los mejores temas de KAMELOT). “Dark Asylum” is the latest album to be released by the American band KAMELOT, and it took me more than one listen to fully immerse myself in the story and melodies it contains.
On a first listen, you’ll likely be drawn to tracks like “Ashen World,” “Godlike Alchemy,” or “Sanctuary” (arguably one of KAMELOT’s best songs). But as you play the album over and over again, you’ll surely come to fully appreciate the compositional value of many other tracks.
The theatricality and grandeur of KAMELOT’s sound are evident throughout their career, but they’ve managed to blend those elements with catchy melodies—particularly in the choruses—drawing the listener in through Tommy Karevik’s vocals; I’m increasingly appreciating his ability to convey emotion.
“Dark Asylum” is yet another stroke of compositional genius from KAMELOT.
