Siete años se han tomado los australianos AIRBOURNE para gestar su nuevo álbum homónimo y a la vista del resultado, quizás no habían hecho falta tantos años para su composición, ya que mantiene la misma línea del resto de su discografía.
Es evidente que AIRBOURNE sabe que su punto fuerte es el directo y ya los temas grabados tienen esa esencia de los grandes estadios y festivales. Si uno cierra los ojos, se ve inmerso entre el público mientras Joel O’Keeffe pasa tocando la guitarra a hombros de miembros de su staff o abriendo latas de cerveza a cabezazos.
Los doce temas son directos y afilados, marcados todos ellos con el sello AIRBOURNE, pero tampoco ofrecen nada nuevo bajo el Sol, lo cual gustará a la mayoría de seguidores del grupo, si bien otros echamos en falta algo que haga diferente a este disco de los anteriores.
Con este trabajo AIRBOURNE incrementa su repertorio, aunque no aportará un valor adicional al conjunto de su discografía.

It took the Australian band AIRBOURNE seven years to put together their new self-titled album, and judging by the result, perhaps it didn’t need to take that long to compose, since it stays true to the style of the rest of their discography.
It’s clear that AIRBOURNE knows their strength lies in live performances, and even the recorded tracks capture that essence of massive stadiums and festivals. If you close your eyes, you can picture yourself in the crowd as Joel O’Keeffe strums his guitar while riding on the shoulders of his crew or opening beer cans with headbutts.
The twelve tracks are direct and sharp, all bearing the AIRBOURNE stamp, but they don’t offer anything new under the sun—which will please most of the band’s fans, though others of us miss something that would set this album apart from the previous ones.
With this album, AIRBOURNE expands its repertoire, though it doesn’t add any significant value to their discography as a whole.
