Antes de empezar a comentar este magnífico disco, vaya por delante que lo compartí con el resto de la redacción de Hörns Üp y no les pareció nada del otro Mundo, pero en mi caso, si fuera un vinilo, estaría rallado de la de veces que lo he escuchado ya. Así que, tanto si te gusta como si no, que sepas que no vas a estar solo.

No tenía yo dentro de mi radar de grupos a los tunecinos MYRATH, si bien luego buscando por la red son una banda más que consagrada no sólo en su país, sino que han tocado en festivales de renombre como el HellFest o el ProgPower y con extensas giras mundiales. Nunca es tarde si la dicha es buena.

Ya desde el primer tema de “Karma” me quedé prendado de los estribillos y de los épicos riffs como los de “Words are failing”, “Into the light”, “Heroes” o “To the stars”. Me recordó muchísimo a los primeros trabajos de MASTERPLAN, unas veces con un sonido muy hard rockero, y otras mucho más metal.

Hay que reconocer que uno de los factores que más me llamaron la atención en las primeras escuchas fue la voz de Zaher Zorgati, pero a medida que me iba introduciendo más y más en la escucha, los arreglos de los instrumentos de cuerda y los teclados son los que dan una personalidad única al disco, con un toque árabe sin perder el sonido moderno y contundente.

Si comparamos este trabajo dentro de la carrera de MYRATH, quizás este tiene un sonido más contundente y pesado que los anteriores, gracias en parte al tratamiento que le han dado al bajo, que tiene cierto toque djent.

Personalmente, es una de mis apuestas para el top de final de año al haber gestado un álbum que es redondo, nunca mejor dicho, porque todos los temas mantienen un elevadísimo nivel y generan la necesidad de escucharlo una y otra vez.

Before I start commenting this magnificent album, it goes beforehand that I shared it with the rest of the editorial staff of Hörns Üp and they didn’t think it was anything out of this world, but in my case, if it were a vinyl, I would be scratched from the number of times I’ve listened to it already. So, whether you like it or not, know that you won’t be alone.

I didn’t have the Tunisians MYRATH on my radar of bands, but then looking around the net they are a band more than consecrated not only in their country, but they have played in renowned festivals like HellFest or ProgPower and with extensive world tours. It’s never too late.

Already from the first track of «Karma» I was hooked by the choruses and epic riffs like «Words are failing», «Into the light», «Heroes» or «To the stars». It reminded me a lot of MASTERPLAN’s early works, sometimes with a very hard rock sound, and other times much more metal.

Admittedly, one of the factors that caught my attention in the first few listens was the voice of Zaher Zorgati, but as I got more and more into the listening, the arrangements of string instruments and keyboards are what give a unique personality to the album, with an Arabic touch without losing the modern and powerful sound.

If we compare this work within MYRATH’s career, perhaps this one has a more forceful and heavier sound than the previous ones, thanks in part to the treatment they have given to the bass, which has a certain djent touch.

Personally, it is one of my bets for the top of the end of the year to have gestated an album that is round, never better said, because all the songs maintain a very high level and generate the need to listen to it again and again.
