THE HALO EFFECT – March of the unheard, 2025.

Y como si hubiera pasado el tiempo, ya estamos en 2025 y volvemos a hablar de Mikael Stanne y es que el sueco sigue estando en pleno estado de gracia convirtiendo en ambrosía todo lo que compone.

El lanzamiento del disco completo nos confirma lo que habíamos escuchado en los adelantos de “March of the unheard”: un disco que rescata el sonido chainsaw del death metal melódico de Gotemburgo de los 90, hasta el punto que sencillos como “Detonate” nos hace mirar a nuestra discoteca para recordar el mítico “Clayman” de IN FLAMES, y es que la presencia de antiguos miembros del otro gigante del death metal melódico sueco deja su impronta de manera más que evidente.

La alianza entre miembros de DARK TRANQUILITY y de IN FLAMES, da como fruto un disco en el que hay temas que se podrían identificar con cualquiera de ambos grupos, junto con sorpresas como medios tiempos en los Stanne sigue haciendo alarde del manejo de su voz en limpio.

Sin duda, “March of the unheard” es uno de los discos del año.

And as if time had passed, we are already in 2025 and we are back to talk about Mikael Stanne and, once again, one of the albums of the year, because the Swede is still in a state of grace, turning everything he composes into ambrosia.

The release of the full-length album confirms what we had heard in the previews of “March of the unheard”: an album that rescues the chainsaw sound of Gothenburg melodic death metal from the 90’s, to the point that singles like “Detonate” makes us look to our record library to remember the mythical “Clayman” by IN FLAMES, and the presence of former members of the other giant of Swedish melodic death metal leaves its mark in a more than evident way.

The alliance between members of DARK TRANQUILITY and IN FLAMES, gives as a result an album in which there are songs that could be identified with any of both bands, along with surprises such as mid-tempos in which Stanne continues to show off the handling of his clean voice.

Without a doubt, “March of the unheard” is one of the albums of the year.
