Está claro que la actualidad tiene como objetivo cerrar las bocas a aquellos que creen que ya no hay discos de AOR como los de antes. La británica Chez Kane alza la voz contra esas ideas y “Reckless” es su manifiesto en el que proclama que el espíritu de los 80 ronda a sus anchas en pleno siglo XXI.
En este disco encontraremos el factor clave que hizo tan popular al AOR en sus años dorados: estribillos que se cuelen en tu mente de la mano de melodías que rondarán tu cabeza durante muchos días.
Como parte de esas buenas composiciones, encontramos arreglos de viento metal ejecutados por el saxofón, ese instrumento que parece que poco a poco va volviendo al hard rock e incluso otras vertientes más extremas del metal, y que incrementa la sensación de clímax en los temas.
Y como corolario, la propia voz de Chez emana glam por todos lados añadiendo la fuerza y la actitud que no deben faltar para hacer de “Reckless” un muy buen disco.

It’s clear that this release aims to silence those who believe there are no longer AOR albums like the ones of old. British artist Chez Kane speaks out against such notions, and “Reckless” is her manifesto proclaiming that the spirit of the ’80s is alive and well in the 21st century.
On this album, we find the key element that made AOR so popular in its golden years: choruses that sneak into your mind through melodies that will linger in your head for days.
As part of these strong compositions, we find brass arrangements featuring the saxophone—an instrument that seems to be gradually making a comeback in hard rock and even more extreme forms of metal—which heightens the sense of climax in the tracks.
