Se lleva hablando bastantes años de la banda Bloodstain procedentes de Suecia, ya que desde que lanzaron el EP “I am Dead” de 2024, pues todo el mundo enseguida les puso el sobrenombre de los nuevos Metallica. Es verdad que en el EP había muchísimos elementos identificativos de la banda de San Francisco en los temas y es que creo que han sabido recoger perfectamente las influencias del thrash de finales de los 80 con ese heavy metal que se fue generando en los 90, quizás más contundente no tan afilado.
Y ya no solo eso, sino que incluso hay temas como “Disdained” que sabe incluso mezclar el sonido del metal más contemporáneo casi un rollo Five Finger Death Punch.
Creo que es un disco que ha colmado las expectativas que teníamos todos en ellos y la gran duda y el gran reto que se encuentra la banda en este momento, en mi opinión, es a ver qué ocurrirá con su próximo álbum, porque va a tener a todo el mundo pendiente de lo que hagan.

People have been talking about the Swedish band Bloodstain for quite a few years now; ever since they released their 2024 EP “I Am Dead,” everyone immediately dubbed them the “new Metallica.” It’s true that the EP featured many elements characteristic of the San Francisco band in its songs, and I think they’ve perfectly captured the influences of late-’80s thrash combined with the heavy metal that emerged in the ’90s—perhaps more forceful and not quite as sharp.
And not only that, but there are even tracks like “Disdained” that manage to blend the sound of more contemporary metal—almost in the vein of Five Finger Death Punch.
I think this is an album that has lived up to all the expectations we had for them, and the big question—and the biggest challenge—facing the band right now, in my opinion, is what will happen with their next album, because everyone will be watching closely to see what they do next.
