Los suecos EVERGREY puede que con este nuevo disco “Architects of a new weave” estén viviendo su mejor momento compositivo, ya que tenían el reto de mantener el nivel que dieron hace dos años con “Theories of emptiness”, y vaya que sí lo han hecho.
Es verdad que los singles puedan tener algo menos de gancho que los del disco precedente, pero “Architects of a new wave” es mucho mejor disco en su conjunto, en donde la emotividad de la voz de Tom S. Englund campa a sus anchas, mientras la parte instrumental sigue manteniendo un ambiente épico e impactante en cada uno de los cortes.
Las guitarras afinadas en registros graves mantienen el peso característico de la banda, mientras que los teclados de Rikard Zander aportan profundidad atmosférica sin caer en excesos sinfónicos.
Uno de los mayores aciertos del álbum es su capacidad para alternar intensidad y sensibilidad.
Como viene ocurriendo en los últimos discos de la banda, a medida que vas escuchando más veces, aprecias más la calidad con conjunto de otro de los discos que están llamados a estar en lo más alto del top anual.

With their new album *Architects of a New Wave*, the Swedish band EVERGREY may well be at the peak of their songwriting abilities, as they faced the challenge of matching the high standard they set two years ago with *Theories of Emptiness*—and they’ve certainly risen to the occasion.
It’s true that the singles may be slightly less catchy than those on the previous album, but “Architects of a New Wave” is a much better album overall, where the emotional depth of Tom S. Englund’s vocals reigns supreme, while the instrumental arrangements continue to maintain an epic and powerful atmosphere on every track.
The low-tuned guitars maintain the band’s characteristic heaviness, while Rikard Zander’s keyboards add atmospheric depth without veering into symphonic excess.
One of the album’s greatest strengths is its ability to alternate between intensity and sensitivity.
As has been the case with the band’s recent albums, the more you listen to it, the more you appreciate the overall quality of yet another album destined to rank among the year’s best.
