FALLUJAH, la banda americana de tech death metal, vuelve a hacer justicia a dicha etiqueta con su nuevo trabajo “Xenotaph”, en un alarde inconmensurable de capacidad técnica y, más aún, de capacidad compositiva.
Digo esto último porque la técnica no conlleva la consecución de riffs y frases instrumentales en la que perderse. Todo lo contrario, todos los temas tienen un gancho que te hace seguir y que dejan respirar, en una magistral capacidad de fusionar contundencia y manejo de los instrumentos.
La parte técnica es de tal calibre que incluso se permiten flirtear con el jazz e irse así al metal progresivo, como ocurre en “The crystalline veil”.
Es cierto que los trabajos anteriores de FALLUJAH siempre han estado en esta línea, peor creo que “Xenotaph” es un paso hacia adelante como banda.

FALLUJAH, the American tech death metal band, once again lives up to its label with its new album “Xenotaph,” in an immeasurable display of technical ability and, even more so, compositional skill.
I say this because technique does not mean creating riffs and instrumental phrases that you can get lost in. On the contrary, all the tracks have a hook that keeps you going and lets you breathe, in a masterful ability to fuse forcefulness and instrument handling.
The technical aspect is of such caliber that they even allow themselves to flirt with jazz and thus move into progressive metal, as in “The Crystalline Veil.”
It is true that FALLUJAH’s previous works have always been along these lines, but I believe that “Xenotaph” is a step forward for the band.
