La banda norteamericana POP EVIL, ha lanzado al mercado su nuevo trabajo “What remains” el pasado 21 de marzo.
Guste o no, está claro que el metal no puede ser un género que se mantenga aislado en una esfera y al margen de lo que ocurre fuera.
Si todas las artes y manifestaciones culturales son permeables a su entorno, la música que nos gusta también lo es, y el metalcore es la vía de expansión de la esfera del heavy, entendido en su término más amplio, y POP EVIL son una buena muestra de ello, incorporando elementos cada vez más comunes en sus temas, como son los sintetizadores, las guitarras densas y las melodías que poseen un flow recuerdan a otros géneros musicales.
Su sonido ya no es metalcore, dando un paso más allá en un nuevo camino de expansión sonora, que no hace otra cosa que aproximar la entra el mundo del rock a otros lares hasta ahora muy remotos.
Ya tenemos que dejar de calificarles como el futuro del metal y empezar a hablar del nuevo presente.

The North American band POP EVIL, has released their new album «What Remains» on March 21st.
Like it or not, it is clear that metal can not be a genre that remains isolated in a sphere and outside of what happens outside.
If all arts and cultural manifestations are permeable to their environment, the music we like is too, and metalcore is the way to expand the sphere of heavy, understood in its broadest sense, and POP EVIL are a good example of this, incorporating increasingly common elements in their songs, such as synthesizers, dense guitars and melodies that have a flow reminiscent of other musical genres.
Their sound is no longer metalcore, taking a step further in a new path of sonic expansion, which does nothing but bring the rock world closer to other places so far very remote.
We have to stop qualifying them as the future of metal and start talking about the new present.
