Cuando un grupo de prodigiosos instrumentistas se juntan para tocar metal extremo, evidentemente, su talento y capacidad los iba a llevar a los campos del death metal técnico. Ese es el caso de los australianos PSYCROPTIC, que han publicado el disco “The pulse of annihilation” en el que muestran toda su capacidad técnica y compositiva.
Aún siendo un disco de perfil muy técnico, cargados de riffs complejos que casi parecen solos de guitarra y de baterías al alcance de muy pocos, no se hace un disco pesado, sino que los temas se siguen disfrutando al mantener un balance casi perfecto entre técnica y melodía.
La veteranía es un elemento clave en el resultado final del disco, pues sus más de veinticinco años de trayectoria hacen no sólo que el nivel técnico sea elevado, sino que saben perfectamente cómo usarlo.
La producción merece una mención especial, ya que el disco no suena excesivamente limpio, sino que conserva una sonoridad real, de tal forma que la mezcla permite apreciar los innumerables detalles sin sacrificar agresividad.

Such is the case with the Australian band PSYCROPTIC, who have released the album “The Pulse of Annihilation,” on which they showcase their full technical and compositional prowess.
Although it’s a highly technical album, packed with complex riffs that almost sound like guitar and drum solos—skills within the reach of very few—it doesn’t come across as heavy; rather, the tracks remain enjoyable thanks to an almost perfect balance between technique and melody.
