A estas alturas creo que pocos seguidos del death progresivo no habrán escuchado u opinado del disco homónimo de RIVERS OF NIHIL. En el extrañísimo caso de que así sea, aquí está HUP para arreglarlo.

Ya desde los primeros adelantos uno veía venir que estábamos ante algo de calidad con mayúsculas. Tanto la vertiente compositiva como la ejecución técnica es tan buena, que te sumerges en sus diez canciones desde el comienzo, y te harán sentir que estás ante partes de death metal melódico al estilo SOILWORK como composiciones del palo de BORKNAGAR.

Resulta imposible decantarse por un tema que pretenda sobresalir del resto. Se percibe que ha sido un disco muy trabajado y fraguado en un estado de gracia.

Los de Pensilvania han engendrado un trabajo que marcará un antes y un después en su carrera, poniendo en ellos todas las miradas para ver qué son capaces de hacer en el futuro.

Creo que es uno de los tres mejores discos de metal en general que he escuchado este año, y está siendo un año de muy buena cosecha.

By now I think few progressive death fans will not have heard or thought about RIVERS OF NIHIL’s eponymous album. In the very strange case that this is the case, here is HUP to fix it.

Already from the first previews one could see coming that we were in front of something of quality with capital letters. Both the compositional side and the technical execution is so good, that you get immersed in their ten songs from the beginning, and they will make you feel that you are in front of parts of melodic death metal in the SOILWORK style as compositions of the BORKNAGAR style.

It is impossible to choose a song that pretends to stand out from the rest. It is perceived that it has been a very worked album and forged in a state of grace.

The Pennsylvanians have engendered a work that will mark a before and after in their career, putting all eyes on them to see what they are capable of doing in the future.

I think it’s one of the three best overall metal albums I’ve heard this year, and it’s turning out to be a very good vintage year.
