Los que somos seguidores acérrimos de EL ALTAR DEL HOLOCAUSTO hemos tenido que pasar nuestra particular travesía del desierto desde que terminarán su trilogía “HE”, “SHE”, “IT”, pero han regresado con “Ecos”, un disco que sigue manteniendo a esta banda como, en mi opinión, la mejor del panorama del metal instrumental y post metal de España.
Siguen fieles a su premisa fundacional: todas las partes deben supeditarse a la melodía. Y es que incluso el trabajo que hacen las guitarras rítmicas, no es tal, sino que construyen su propia línea melódica que converge con la solista.
Para ello no necesitan adentrarse en las tierras del virtuosismo, sino que lo fundamental es transmitir sensaciones, hasta el punto de que la ausencia de una voz no quita un ápice de emotividad.
Con EL ALTAR DEL HOLOCAUSTO me surge siempre la duda de si hablar de ellos o no, ya que no quiero que dejen de ser una banda de culto y así poder disfrutar de sus discos egoístamente, pero no puedo dejar de recomendarla.

We die-hard fans of EL ALTAR DEL HOLOCAUSTO have had to endure our own personal journey through the wilderness since they wrapped up their “HE,” “SHE,” “IT” trilogy, but they’ve returned with “Ecos,” an album that continues to cement this band’s status as, in my opinion, the best in Spain’s instrumental metal and post-metal scene.
They remain faithful to their founding premise: all parts must be subordinate to the melody. In fact, even the work done by the rhythm guitars isn’t merely that—they construct their own melodic line that converges with the lead guitar.
To achieve this, they don’t need to venture into the realm of virtuosity; rather, the key is to convey emotions, to the point where the absence of vocals doesn’t diminish the emotional impact in the slightest.
With EL ALTAR DEL HOLOCAUSTO, I’m always torn about whether to talk about them or not, since I don’t want them to stop being a cult band so I can selfishly enjoy their albums, but I can’t help but recommend them.
