La banda danesa DEFACING GODS ha publicado un soberbio disco de Dark melodic death metal que no podía haber sido bautizado de mejor manera: “Darkness is my crown”.
Y es que el disco consigue un sublime balance entre la contundencia, lo sinfónico y la oscuridad que permite disfrutar de todas sus aristas y sumergirse en él de principio a fin.
El disco va ganando en oscuridad a medida que se avanza por sus cortes, hasta el punto de tener pistas que su opresión es tal que me han sugestionado profundamente. No lo voy a negar: ha habido temas que me han dado miedo, que creo que eso es lo que la banda pretende.
Sólo por la capacidad que tienen para transmitir sensaciones oscuras, “Darkness is my crown” merece una atenta escucha.

The Danish band DEFACING GODS has released a superb album of dark melodic death metal that couldn’t have been named more fittingly: “Darkness is my crown”.
The album strikes a sublime balance between intensity, symphonic elements, and darkness, allowing listeners to appreciate all its facets and immerse themselves in it from start to finish.
The album grows darker as you progress through its tracks, to the point where some songs are so oppressive that they have deeply unsettled me. I won’t deny it: there have been songs that have scared me, which I believe is exactly what the band intends.
For their ability to convey dark sensations alone, “Darkness is my crown” deserves a careful listen.
