Por petición popular le hemos dado una escucha a la regrabación del disco “Twinfinity” del grupo alemán de metal gótico END OF GREEN con el debutaron hace casi treinta años. El disco salió publicado en un momento en el que la música se movía por derroteros melancólicos, con el ocaso del grunge y el nu metal en visos de surgir, por lo que bandas como TYPE O NEGATIVE eran tendencia. En esos momentos y con ese contexto, surgieron desde Stuttgart END OF GREEN.
Ciertamente, esta es una de esas ocasiones en las que la regrabación hace honor a su nombre, pues el sonido conseguido es mucho más robusto y adaptado a los resultados que se consiguen hoy en día en los estudios de grabación. Sobre todo, se nota en el cuerpo en las guitarras y en la batería, que en el disco original siempre tuvo un aire más cercano a la maqueta que a lo que corresponde a un disco propiamente dicho.
Siendo un disco excelente en su versión original en lo que supone un perfecto cruce de los sonidos góticos y doom, los temas no han perdido un ápice de calidad con el transcurso de los años.
Aun cuando la propuesta inicial iba más encaminada al doom que a otra subgénero, la voz de Michelle Darkness es la que saca el punto más gótico a END OF GREEN.
Como detalle, la banda ha sacado publicado de manera simultánea el original con la regrabación para que podamos comparar la evolución en la sonoridad.

By popular demand we have given a listen to the re-recording of the album «Twinfinity» by the German gothic metal band END OF GREEN with which they debuted almost thirty years ago. The album was released at a time when music was moving in a melancholic direction, with the decline of grunge and nu metal on the verge of emerging, so bands like TYPE O NEGATIVE were a trend. At that time and in that context, END OF GREEN emerged from Stuttgart.
Certainly, this is one of those occasions when the re-recording lives up to its name, as the sound achieved is much more robust and adapted to the results achieved today in recording studios. Above all, it is noticeable in the body of the guitars and drums, which in the original album always had an air closer to the demo than to what corresponds to a proper album.
Being an excellent album in its original version in what is a perfect cross between gothic and doom sounds, the songs have not lost an iota of quality over the years.
Even though the initial proposal was more doom oriented than any other subgenre, Michelle Darkness’ voice is the one that brings out the most gothic point of END OF GREEN.
As a detail, the band has released simultaneously the original and the re-recording so that we can compare the evolution in the sonority.
