Una de las bandas referencia y precursoras del metal melódico, LACUNA COIL, han estrenado recientemente el disco “Slepless empire” dando muestras de que siguen en pleno estado de forma y que su planteamiento del metal mantiene su vigencia desde su formación allá por 1997, que se dice pronto.
La base del sonido es de sobra conocida por todo metalero que se precie: bases rítmicas sólidas y robustas, juego de voces entre Cristina Scabbia y Andrea Ferro y la creación de entornos próximos al metal gótico.
Aún cuando la formación está perfectamente empastada, sigue estando un punto por encima el papel de Cristina sobre el conjunto, que es lo que hace diferenciable a LACUNA COIL sobre otras bandas que se mueven en la misma escena.
El disco cuenta con las colaboraciones estelares de Randy Blythe (LAMB OF GOD) y Ash Costello (NEW YEARS DAY) mejorando aún más si cabe el resultado final con su saber hacer.
Desde mi punto de vista, con este disco LACUNA COIL vuelve a sus mejores momentos compositivos ¿Estáis de acuerdo?

One of the reference bands and forerunners of melodic metal, LACUNA COIL, have recently released the album «Slepless empire», showing that they are still in top form and that their approach to metal is still valid since their formation back in 1997, which is something to be said soon.
The basis of the sound is well known to any self-respecting metalhead: solid and robust rhythmic bases, the play of voices between Cristina Scabbia and Andrea Ferro and the creation of environments close to gothic metal.
Even though the line-up is perfectly blended, Cristina’s role is still one point above the whole, which is what makes LACUNA COIL different from other bands that move in the same scene.
The album counts with the stellar collaborations of Randy Blythe (LAMB OF GOD) and Ash Costello (NEW YEARS DAY) improving even more the final result with their know-how.
