Hoy ponemos una nueva chincheta en el mapa de Hörns Üp para detenernos en Islandia y escuchar el disco “Hin helga kvöl” de SÓLSTAFIR, un grupo surgido del black metal nórdico que ha ido enriqueciendo su personalidad con influencias del progresivo y el post rock, engendrando un proyecto que suena como si un grupo de black metaleros se juntara con su amigo batería que va a festivales de indie. De hecho, lo curioso es que lo que más sobresale es el ritmo de la batería, que sí tiene sus buenos beat blast, pero que por momentos nos hace mover los pies a un son inusual para un grupo que algo mantiene de black en su etiqueta.
“Blakkrakki” es el mejor ejemplo de lo que os digo.
“Hin helga kvöl” es un disco que también tiene sus momentos más introspectivos y melancólicos, pero no son los que hacen relucir este disco sobre los demás.

Today we put a new pin on the map of Hörns Üp to stop in Iceland and listen to the album «Hin helga kvöl» by SÓLSTAFIR, a band born from Nordic black metal that has been enriching its personality with progressive and post rock influences, engendering a project that sounds as if a group of black metallers got together with their drummer friend who goes to indie festivals. In fact, the curious thing is that what stands out the most is the rhythm of the drums, which has its good beat blast, but at times makes us move our feet to an unusual sound for a band that maintains something of black in its label.
«Blakkrakki» is the best example of what I’m talking about.
«Hin helga kvöl» is an album that also has its more introspective and melancholic moments, but they are not the ones that make this album shine over the others.
